Do No Harm: Achieving Net Zero Buildings

Wednesday, Sep 25, 2019

Join us for this NY Climate Week event on the role of urban, high-density, net-zero-energy projects in meeting the demands of our climate crisis.

Framed by ILFI’s recent work with Salesforce on net zero energy projects + the role of Passive House as a powerful demand reduction strategy, this discussion will illuminate the power of urban zero energy targets to meet both our long-term climate action goals as well as near term targets like NYC’s carbon emissions limits for buildings (LL 97). Featuring large-scale, real world projects, panelists will address the challenges we face by offering effective solutions that form a roadmap to equitable + sustainable communities.

Sponsors: North American Passive House Network (NAPHN), the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), + the Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex)

Date: Wednesday, September 25, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Location: Building Energy Exchange, 31 Chambers Street, Room 609

Speakers: Amanda Sturgeon, International Living Future Institute; Amanda von Almen, Salesforce; Stas Zakrzewski, Zakrzewski + Hyde Architects

Moderator: Yetsuh Frank, Building Energy Exchange

RSVP: Be-Ex, AIA Credits; 1.5 LU
