From Paris To Pittsburgh

Wednesday, Jan 16, 2019

On June 1, 2017, President Trump announced the US withdrawal from the landmark Paris Climate Agreement, which was designed to reduce carbon emissions and slow global warming. It had been signed by nearly every nation in the world. In the aftermath of Trump's decision, thousands of Americans took to the streets of cities + towns pledging to take climate change into their own hands. Mayor Bill Peduto responded: "As Mayor of Pittsburgh, I can assure you that we will follow the guidelines of the Paris Agreement for our people, our economy, and our future."

In National Geographic's new documentary, Paris to Pittsburgh, directors Michael Bonfiglio + Sidney Beaumont travel throughout the US to explore this powerful national movement + its efforts to tackle carbon emissions + create a new clean energy economy.
