Design In The Age Of Efficiency
Monday, Jun 27, 2016
With recent legislation, new construction and major renovations of New York City-owned buildings must meet some of the highest efficiency standards in the nation by way of Local Laws 31 and 32 of 2016.
The impact of these local laws promises to reach even further than the city’s vast municipal portfolio—totaling 5 percent of the city’s building stock—as New York’s designers and builders are driven to create a new generation of hyper-efficient buildings, ultimately advancing building practices in the private sector and perhaps even worldwide given the international reach of many NYC firms.
