New York City's landmark Local Law 84, the Building Energy Benchmarking mandate ought to be a power tool for helping to realize Mayor de Blasio's goal of cutting our carbon footprint 80% by 2050 and its supporters have had a shared expectation that the disclosure of benchmarking data would quickly elevate debates about improving energy efficiency and turn attention to "low hanging fruit" opportunities with cost effective returns.
Are these high hopes being fulfilled? Our Benchmarking Brain Trust will tackle this question along with its policy and practical implications.
