Tuesday, Jul 28, 2015
Kay (Kie) Künzel is a German architect known for ecological and sustainable Passive House buildings. He founded his firm "raum für architektur" in 2000 and has since then realized over 200 highly energy efficient buildings. Kay will give an overview of Passive House and the different possibilities of energy efficiency strategies, featuring the presentation of multi-story-buildings in wooden construction.
One project presented will be a 6 story wooden Passive House student-apartment in Bonn, Germany - it is both completely ecological and a "smart-home". Attendees can expect an energetic presentation ranging from the basics of Passive House to the cutting edge of ecological construction.
