Community Garden Casita Project

Wednesday, Mar 19, 2014

Here's an upcoming event for a great cause. Be there the unveiling of the Community Garden Casita Project design. Learn about and celebrate this sustainable project that will greatly improve resiliency in community gardens throughout the City. The first installation is currently underway in the Bronx at the Willis Avenue Community Garden, and we plan to work with the New York Restoration Project to expand the program to over 50 Community Gardens in NYC!

The non-profit Urban Air Foundation is proud to be working with its volunteer partners at TEN Arquitectos, Enrique Norten and Andrea Steele to develop an innovate kit-of-parts for casitas (small, open-aired structures) and the New York Restoration Project in NY’s community gardens. The kit-of-parts design will help transform community gardens by incorporating sustainable technologies such as solar powered cell phone charging stations and providing community gathering points during extreme weather events such as Hurricane Sandy. We invite you to join us at our fundraiser to celebrate our accomplishments. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Urban Air Foundation and the Casita Project.

Sponsor: The Urban Air Foundation
