Summer Streets

Saturday, Aug 31, 2013

The first three Saturdays in August from 7:00am–1:00pm — Summer Streets — nearly seven miles of car-free streets in Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park opens up for everyone to play, run, walk and bike.

The signature event of Summer Streets 2013 is Voice Tunnel. Open to pedestrians for the first time in history, the Park Avenue Tunnel, which runs from 33rd Street to 40th Street, will be open to pedestrians at the 33rd Street entrance.

DOT also brings new energy to city streets in all five boroughs throughout the summer by partnering with community groups to present Weekend Walks at 24 sites citywide through October. For more information, visit NYC DOT
