NYMTC Wants You!

Friday, Aug 31, 2012

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council wants your ideas to help update and shape its Regional Transportation Plan 2015-2040.

The New York Regional Transportation Council is looking for public input on the Regional Transportation Plan. Your involvement helps us ensure that future transportation investments reflect the needs, interests and concerns of those most affected — YOU! Input opportunities through August 31

NYMTC's Principals have a shared vision for our region that forms the core of the Plan. This shared vision is built around a 5-pronged approach – common goals & objectives; desired growth areas; short-, medium-, and long-term strategic investments; strategic policy guidelines; and overarching issues – which will make our transportation safer, better and more efficient for all users. In assessing the transportation needs of the region the numerous challenges that lie ahead are taken into consideration including population growth, changing demographics, the economy, aging infrastructure, funding uncertainties, and increasing (project) costs, increasing fuel costs, air quality, climate change, and the environment and quality of life.
