Screen The Transition
Wednesday, Oct 19, 2011
Don't miss this screening of four short videos illustrating that sustainability is about preparing our communities not just for climate change and extreme weather events, but the economic changes that will result from depletion of natural resources and fossil fuels.
The Transition community organizing method aims to raise awareness about global issues at the community level, both to encourage participation in sustainability initiatives, and to build new alliances between environmental advocates and neighborhood civic groups. Many communities have been influenced by the method, such as Brooklyn's Sustainable Flatbush.
