Energy and Environmental Sustainability: Science, Engineering, and Public Policy
The conference will focus on how sustainability issues affect us, including: the impacts of rising global energy use and fossil fuel demand: links between fossil fuel-based energy production and climate change; and the many effects of rapid urbanization and their influence on energy use.
Two major topics will be examined: 1) innovations in science and engineering leading to breakthroughs in alternative energy sources, energy efficiency, and increasing energy supply; and 2) the policies needed to advance these innovations.
Date: Friday, December 8, 2006 , 9 am to 5 pm
Location: CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue @ 34th Street, NYC.
RSVP: The conference is free. For registration and an agenda, contact: Karen D. Belin, CUNY, 212-794-5630 or firstname.lastname@example.org
