The "Jewel of Brooklyn"-The Gowanus Canal by Foot & Paddle

Sunday, Aug 13, 2006

Explore the shoreline of this urban industrial waterway sandwiched between Carroll Gardens and Park Slope. This narrated Shorewalkers tour crosses 4-of-5 bridges over the canal and covers 400 years of history, ending at the 2nd Street launch to board Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club boats for a waterborne perspective.

Time and Place: Meet at 11:00AM, downstairs in front of the F/G – Smith-9th Street elevated station entrance.
