The January 27th gathering is to learn about the business opportunities related to NYC's and the national Apollo Alliance advocacy and policy agenda. In 2005, the NYC Council passed legislation mandating high performance, energy efficiency measures for all new public construction. Now, new business can broaden the use of renewable energy technologies, promote public-private-labor partnerships, create "green collar" manufacturing jobs and encourage smart economic growth. This links together growth, health, and security goals to solutions for a new urban economy.

NYC Apollo is part of a bold national campaign led by the Apollo Alliance that links job creation, environmental stewardship, investment in clean energy technologies and energy independence. Our bipartisan, coalition of business, labor, community and environmental organizations is committed to supporting public policies at the local, state and national levels that lead to sustainable American energy independence and the creation of millions of jobs within a decade.
