Brussels Days in New York 2018
From IceBox To High Performance Homes
The #IceBoxChallengeNYC made it crystal clear that Passive House construction can stand up to the weather and provide better shelter from the elements.
The Challenge, installing blocks of ice in two structures, one insulated to Passive House standards and the other built to meet local code requirements. After a month, you can believe your eyes and the power of Passive House to keep a constant indoor temperature without energy-wasting temperature controls.
If that’s not enough, there are now nearly 100 Passive House designed buildings in NYC and more are on the way. A 24 story mixed income apartment building will soon rise on West 29th Street.
