The Sustainability Practice Network and Lena Imamura hosted a Sustainable Design Symposium at the Great Hall of Cooper Union in New York City.
The event brought together some of the leading voices from the worlds of public health, law and envoronmental design to take a close look at how sustainable design strategies are being implemented and how they effect us?
Sallan's Nancy Anderson spoke about the legal design for green building. Panelists explored how environmentally sensitive buildings affect our life quality, personal health and our global financial position.
The long-term benefits of the latest sustainable design strategies as well as the statutory and financial context were discussed at greater length during a question and answer session after presentations by each of the panelists.
This symposium was hosted by The Sustainability Practice Network and Lena Imamura.
General Electric Water and Process Technologies commissioned Lena Imamura, a Cooper Union art student, to create a sculpture that reflects the global water scarcity crisis. Ms. Imamura's water sustainability sculpture was on view just outside the Great Hall.
