Bridging The Gap

Come to "Sustainability and Energy Efficiency: Bridging the Gap From Concept Through Operation". New York City's buildings are responsible for 79% of its greenhouse gas emissions. Developers, financiers, owners, contractors, operators and tenants are learning that reducing carbon footprints of existing buildings is a must as is developing new high performance properties.

The green buildings industry is experiencing exponential growth and information is flooding the trade literature with claims about improved performance, increased comfort levels, health benefits, and energy cost savings. However, many of these claims are based on predicted, not measured, savings and bridging the gap between good intentions in design and construction and building performance can be major challenge.
